Kibbutz Ma'anit, part of the Kibbutz Artzi movement of the Hashomer Hatzair, was founded on 1935 in Karkur village, by the “El-Al” Kibbutz from Poland and Lithuania and the “Kibbutz Gimel” from Czechoslovakia.
In 1942, before the Permanently settling on the its lands, Kibbutz Udim from Nachlat Yehuda joined to them and the united Kibbutz settled on its lands on the 6 of September 1942, when the first children born in Kibbutz Ma’anit were already 3 years old.
Kibbutz Ma’anit is settled on the entrance of “Wadi Ara”- one of the main roads to the north of the country – in the neighborhood of 3 other Kibbutzim and the main ideological center of HaKibbutz Haartzi” – Givat Haviva, On the name of the paratrooper Haviva Raik, who was a member of Kibbutz Ma’anit The meaning of the name Maanit is furrow, and it symbolizes the agricultural attitude and goal of the Kibbutz.

GALAM factory: producing Glucose, Starches, Fructose and other by-products on the base of maize and sugar Most of the total output is exported to Europe and other overseas countries.
BARAM : Chicken’s farms corporation: 4 farms of chicks and chicken and 8 for reproduction eggs
Plantations: Avocado, wine yard
Various Field Growths: De-hydration growths and growths hydrated with Recycled water
Cow Shed: producing mainly milk – 3100 million liter per year and 250 calves for meet
The Fifth Element: a local carpentry specializing in designing and producing sophisticated kitchens
Adduction Center: external children (babies, toddlers and kindergarten- age) are adducted in the adducation centers of the kibbuts on business base
External workers : members of the kibbutz works out of the kibbutz and their salaries are part of the income of the kibbutz

Among the warriors who were killed during the Holocaust and world war were two of our members: Josef Kaplan – the first commander of the Jewish Fighting Organization in the Ghetto of Warsaw (1942) and Haviva Raik – the paratrooper who, among some other, rescued her life to save Jews in Europe during world war two and was executed by the Nazi party members (1944) We also lost 4 of our sons: Yoram Sela – killed in the Yom-Kippur war; YIRMI TENE – killed in the Yom-Kippur war; Yossi Gamer – killed in the war of attrition; Eliahu Goshen – killed in the 6 days war
